Walk for Freedom: Huge Success!

On January 16th the Project Exodus team hit the streets of MacArthur Park for a "Walk for Freedom" to raise awareness about human trafficking and to recognize Human Trafficking Awareness Day.

One of the poorer communities within Los Angeles, MacArthur Park has been afflicted with human trafficking for decades, with vulnerable individuals in the community being forced into prostitution. Project Exodus alone has found multiple brothels all operating within blocks of each other within the community.

The event on Saturday was aimed at tackling the issue of trafficking by raising awareness within the community and equipping community members with the resources necessary to identify and report trafficking should they come across it. In addition to raising awareness, teams focused on praying over the community as well as getting tips about trafficking from community members.

During the course of the event, Project Exodus volunteers handed out hundreds of pamphlets on human trafficking and prayed for multiple individuals. All in all God was totally present and a considerable amount of light was spread in what can be a dark community!
